Honestly, if you don't know, I'd say it's best to keep it that way lol. Ignorance can be bliss, and I think in this case it very much is.

But if you are curious, look up basically any interview of her ever. I wouldn't say she's an 'asshole', really, but she does come across as very self-absorbed.

I met her once and I have to agree. She wasn't an asshole, exactly. I'm just glad she didn't complain to my boss, my god, I couldn't help it we didn't have many people on the floor.

Awww, I liked Rikku in X-2! Unless...are you saying they re-recorded the lines for the HD release? I haven't played the HD version yet. Hopefully it isn't too different.

I haven't noticed a difference, but I've been playing the remaster on Vita and the tiny speakers lose a lot of detail. :\

Ah, yea, I can imagine. :(

(Though I don't own a Vita, I own a DS and a PSP and the speakers on those aren't anything to gush over either.)

You can always use earbuds or headphones though, and playing like that is certainly better than nothing!

They probably mean the new dub for Last Mission. I started it knowing they wouldn't sound the same after all these years, but it was still kind of jarring.

Ooo, I didn't actually know about Last Mission so I googled, and...it sounds kind of depressing so I'm just going to pretend it never happened. (Sorry but I am not okay with Rikku and Paine going their separate ways! I shipped them too hard.)

Seriously, this! RikkuxPaine is everything.

The Last Mission was a Japanese exclusive for a while, apparently. Which makes it more depressing, since I thought it was something the remaster added and I could just dismiss it as AU. ...But it is very much canon.

It's as canon as the radio drama and novel are! I wouldn't sweat it if you want to ignore the heck out of it, considering how the first thing went.

I'm still determined to play it since it seems like an easy roguelike that could train me for others, but most fandom on both sides of the ocean seem to stick with the original X-2 ending. It took me years to hear about it.

I bet it's a lot of fun gameplay wise, so hopefully you enjoy it when you get around to it! (If I could ignore the story I'd probably play it as well.)

Thanks! I hope I enjoy it too--it was very fast-paced when I tried it! I think there's also about fifty floors per story bit, so I probably won't be seeing much of it as I go, haha.

X-2 is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

NGL, I've moved past the point of guilt, I just find X-2 to be a pleasure. It was fun and colorful and I loveeeeee the dresspheres. Yuna, Rikku and Paine were a good team, too!

Yes, dress spheres! I really loved that mechanic because it made the game so much more interesting. Especially when you're on your 20th hour.

Agreed! With a game that long you need some interesting mechanic to keep things fresh. I spent God knows how many hours on that game, and I know I didn't even max out all the dresspheres.

Eh, I guess it's one of those things that's bound to happen when a V/A reprises/re-records a role several years later, especially if it's close to a decade later, in FFX-2's case. I felt the same way with p. much everyone in the Metal Gear Solid remake a few years back (though I get they had to re-record the audio for technical reasons, it still lost a lot of the punch it originally had). =T
