I get so lost in this huge thread where I can't tell what subthreads go where.

I don't mind it, but I agree on it sometimes being hard to keep up with.

However, I'm all for more secrets! I have a few things I could put here but I'm saving them.

+1, but sometimes we're just too lazy to go to all this trouble.

I enjoy photoshoping, so making an image is a perk for me.
Coming up with a reason why this or that is a secret could take some time however.

I don't know how to make/submit secrets.

I really need an extremely detailed step by step guide here.

All right. I'll try.

Step 1: figure out your secret. You don't necessarily need exact phrasing now, but you do need to know what your secret is.

Step 2: open up your image-editing software (anything from MS Paint to Photoshop will do here). I recommend a canvas size of 500x500, but you can have any size you want as long as no dimension is greater than 600.

Step 3: create your background. I've used everything from fanart to gradients to a plain white. If your secret is fandom-specific, you should use something that indicates what it is, but otherwise you can honestly just use plain white.

Step 4: write your secret's text. Use any standard font: Arial, Times New Roman, Courier, etc. Use whichever of white and black contrasts better; do not try to get clever about font color. If your image switches between light and dark sections and you cannot keep all your text on one section, you can switch between light and black.

Step 5: save and upload image to image-hosting website. I recommend saving it as a .png, .jpg, or .gif file. Photobucket is a bad choice, because the direct link URLs have your username in them. I use Imgur, as do most people. The website itself should be able to walk you through the uploading.

Step 6: get and submit the direct link. Click on the image once it's uploaded, and you should end up on a page with a URL of i.imgur.com/[alphanumberic gibberish].[filetype] which you need to copy. This is not the same as the [username].imgur.com/all/ page which you may also be on. Take the direct link and click on the conveniently-placed Current Secret Submissions Post link at the bottom of this post. Paste it into a comment. If you need to explain the fandom or add trigger warnings, do that in parentheses after the link. Leave the comment. Unless you were logged in, you won't be able to see the comment.

I wasn't sure where I was supposed to submit it! So it's just submitted as a comment (basically) in the Current Secret Submissions Post. I kept looking for somewhere else.

What kind of computer do you have?

If it's a PC here's how you do it:

1. Image search a relevant picture.

2. Right click on that image and hit the copy command.

3. Open up MS Paint.

4. There should be a clipboard option. Click that and press paste. (Alternatively use the ctrl+v keyboard shortcut.)

5. The image you copied should be on your screen.

6. Move the small box below the image to get a large white space where you can write something.

7. Now click the text option which should be a large captial A. Click and hold over the white space you made below the picture you copypasted to get a box you can write things in.

8. If you want you can change the size and font using options in the text tool box.

9. Write your secret.

10. If the image is bigger than 600 x 600px (check the bottom middle of the window, resize it with option labeled resize. (Alternatively use the ctrl+w keyboard shortcut.)

11.Once the resize option box comes up change the percent box to pixel. Change the largest size to 600 or less if needed.

12. Save the image using the drop down menu. (Alternatively the ctrl+s keyboard shorcut.)

13. Upload to imgur.com with their upload images option at the top of the page.

14. Upload image using the file you saved. Click on the image again so the url has a .png or .jpeg at the end.
