Like others are saying, basically everyone has this problem in fandom...

...however, it's true that there's a lot more hate directed towards ships that concern underage/overage characters, ESPECIALLY when one of them helped raise the other. I kinda agree it's squicky...I don't ship Maleficent/Diaval, really, but if one had to take a moral stance, I'd agree that the Aurora ships are kind of iffy.

At least in Diaval's case, he's not human, so 'age' is very relative, and his mental age is indeterminate, but he DID help raise her.
