I get this feeling with a lot of those cosplayers that suddenly identify as trans as well. I never know if them cosplaying guys all the time was a subconscious thing they did because they were trans all along or if them cosplaying fictional guys for years made them think they're trans because they got obsessed with the fictional maleness.
It's probably a mix of both, considering a lot of them bounce back to identifying as cis female after a while (Or they pick one of the new shiny tumblr labels.) but a few of them don't.

If you pretend to be someone else for a significant amount of time, it's bound to ebcome a part of your real self.
