I feel the same way about covers of The Rolling Stones songs. I loved Jumping Jack Flash in Elite Beat Agents, then I heard the original...it was a disappointment. Vanessa Carlton's version of Paint It, Black sounds better to me, too. In comparison their arrangements feel bare-bones and I don't like the lead singer either...

DEVO nails "Satisfaction." I think my favorite version of "Sympathy for the Devil" was done by the Celtic-Punk Drovers, unfortunately I don't think they ever recorded it.

David Bowie's version of Let's Spend the Night Together is amazing.
