Can't say I've got any ships like that. And if I did, I dunno. Depends, really.

Not really. I don't make a habit of arguing with them about why they should like it and how they're totally wrong about disliking it. I think I'd rightfully feel bad if I did that. But just quietly liking the ship? Nah.

Maybe it would be different if I thought that a ship was really sweet while others thought it was really fucked up, but I tend to like those ships because of the problems rather than denying them.

but then again, all the ships I like are fictional characters who are at least 18 years old. So, it can't really get that bad.

Nope. The only time I've ever felt bad for shipping something is when people in my ship get obnoxious and there are ship wars and I feel vicarious embarrassment.

No, because I'm the biggest weenie on Earth when it comes to shipping so I don't really have any ships like that

I think I probably would feel bad about it though and that's probably part of why I don't

Yes. About having ships and even being in some fandoms themselves.

I didn't really feel "bad," but I did get mightily discouraged when something I shipped -- and worked very hard to write IC -- was constantly bashed by those who a) hated the ship because they insisted it could "never" work b) hated the ship because 95% of the fic for it was so badly OOC and c) hated the ship because there was a LOT of fic for it.

I ultimately got so discouraged that I pulled most of my fics for it (for a while) and re-wrote other fics toning the romance down to "tentative friendship" ... and then I got pissed at myself for doing that, but by then I had run out of steam for the fandom anyhow.
