I don't know if River should be considered as a Moffat character? Sure, she had her "character development" during his run, but the basis of her personality sort of started during RTD's era and all that Moffat had to do, it seemed to me, was try and make her fit right in his seasons.
But how can River not be the same too? Wasn't she the one 'born to kill the Doctor'? And Clara was the one to save him? And Amy was 'the girl who waited (for the Doctor)'?

If Clara came right after Rose and Martha, it would be different. She'd be the only one who knew the Doctor beforehand. Her mystery would've been something new. True, Clara had the perfect characteristics of a companion, you might argue, but Rose and Martha didn't.
I also dislike how Moffat's female characters all have to fancy his Doctor because he's the most awesome thing, in his opinion.

All of River's episodes have been written by Moffat. She's been his from the start.

Right, sorry. Forgot to double check on that. Huh, this actually explains a lot of things then. Well, anyway, I've never been such a fan of her from the start. I was curious about her after the library episodes, but then the 'born to kill the doctor' and her suddenly being Amy and Rory's daughter ruined it all for me.
