I am entirely shallow and love Spike because he was beyond hot. Also he spent some time chained up, which hits some kind of fun buttons for me.

I'm totally there with you in the shallowness, though I did find him an interesting character as well. Oh, and also, he spent quite a bit of time without a shirt or naked, which was nice.
