someone went back in time to the 1980s with recording equipment and just recorded a couple hours' worth of ambient audio and made it into an album. I mean, this is pretty much how I remember the 80s sounding like all the time.

Nobody walked anywhere, we all drove corvettes and when we did need to go on foot, we moonwalked our way there in rollerblades. All the trees were palm trees, we lit our houses with neon and spoke in Flock of Seagulls lyrics. We wore pastel suits with t-shirts underneath (yes even the women), everyone had at least 3 pairs of sunglasses (including at least one pair of shutter shades), and Molly Ringwald and David Coverdale did everybody's hair. And always, always, this kind of music could be heard everywhere, 24/7, with no discernible source.
