It's okay, anon. Part of what makes it so difficult to leave abusive relationships is the gaslighting:

Someone who's abusive will want you to stay--not because they love you, but because they need you to keep taking their abuse. Gaslighting makes you question your own judgment so that you'll end up relying solely upon the abuser's judgment. It's a way to destroy your trust in your own instincts.
