What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
I used to LOVE doing that - trying on outfits, getting the perfect one, down to matching jewelry.
Now...it just feel like a chore. I mean, I still like looking nice and well-dressed, but I no longer enjoy the process.
F!S, is there anything you used to enjoy but now no longer do - fandom related or just in general?

Baking. Knitting. But I have these weird phases where I get REALLLY into something for a couple months then become completely apathetic towards it.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 10:37 am (UTC)(link)I wish I wasn't so much of a wuss. There's nothing like cycling, it just makes you feel so free. I just really don't want to risk injury again. :/
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
- Critiquing people's choice of baby names
- Watching amateur riffs or iriffs of movies (Think Rifftrax, but done by other people. Janet Varney, voice of Korra, used to do them.)
- Write movie reviews
- Watch TQWTG and co.

I don't really notice when it comes to shorter posts like here, but I used to love sitting down and typing up long fics because it meant typing for so much and so long. But now, doing so feels like a chore. I love writing by hand, but that doesn't get my fic up to AO3. :P
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
(Anonymous) 2014-08-28 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)But when I do cook or bake I think to myself, "Yeah, everything tastes so much better when I make it myself," but I'm so lazy these days, I internally moan about the work that goes into cooking/baking.

Used to love drawing (did it constantly during school, came home and did some more), but eventually stopped. By the time I picked up a pencil again it felt like I had backslide about 3 years and didn't feel like making the effort to gain my skills back. (Not that I was incredible in the first place, but I could've been worse?) I miss it sometimes, but am lazy.
Weirdly enough, basketball. I don't have a lot of interest in sports, but I did casually enjoy playing basketball in my free time. We had a goal outside the house so I spent time outside shooting hoops with my brother. At some point I stopped doing it and started reading and gaming more.
Now it's extremely rare for me to pick up an actual book; I read fanfiction instead. Back in high school I would sometimes read five books a week.
I've barely gamed in months, but it isn't because of lack of interest; I just don't have as much free time now, and when I do I'm usually reading or watching tv or anime.
There are probably more...

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 12:20 am (UTC)(link)Writing fic - even though I have plenty of ideas to be written down, I can't seem to get them on paper/typed.
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
And for the same reasons, playing the trumpet. I do really miss that though and while I don't think I'd want to play the same instrument again I kind of want to play something.

Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
I guess college sucked the fun out of it because I couldn't do it anymore and ended up dropping my career. It was really stressful and became such a nightmare. You could say the ~*magic*~ was gone for me. Now I probably do it once in a blue moon or whenever I'm feeling bored.
Wow this reply got kinda depressing. Whoops.
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
I fell out of reading back when I was an undergrad and had too much school-related shit to do, but I've since gotten back into it.
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)Related, I guess fandom in general. I still post here, mainly for the GC, but there are only a couple fandoms I'm even interested in right now, and they're really small ones that no one ever talks about. (That's probably why I don't really read fanfic anymore, either, because there really isn't any for the fandoms I'd be interested in reading it for.)
And cooking/baking, although it's not that I don't enjoy it anymore. I'm sure I still would if I did it, but I'm trying to lose weight, and considering that there's no one to share the stuff I bake with (basically everyone I see on a regular basis is on a special diet for one reason or another) I end up either eating it all myself so it just doesn't make sense.
Re: What is something you enjoyed doing, but no longer do?
(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)I used to enjoy school, but I couldn't bring myself to do any of it. So I kind of just quit. It wasn't what I really wanted to do and I was doing it because people told me that's what I would be good at. I have a BA so I'm looking for a job right now that will help me be able to afford going back to school once I decide 100% what I want to do. I guess I found my breaking point because I suddenly don't care what my family/friends think of me dropping school. My aunt was paying for my college but she won't now because I changed my mind which I understand and am totally okay with. It was one of the reasons I felt I had to finish my degree even though I didn't want it. She was very vocal about what she thought about any of my cousins who changed career paths.
I also haven't enjoyed horse back riding like I used to. One of my ex-friends keeps her horse there and I hate being there when she's around. She'll stand either outside or inside the arena while I work with my horse and just stare. She won't talk to me which is fine I guess but it makes me dread going out there lately. I've attempted to talk to her but am usually met with silence or one word answers. I'm thinking of moving my horse before it gets to the point where I won't go out there anymore. I'm already going less because of it.
