How often do you shampoo/condition your hair?
(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 12:01 am (UTC)(link)I've also heard of people who don't use shampoo but instead apple cider vinegar? Does anyone do that? If so, how was the process and how do you like your hair?
I used to wash my hair every 2-3 days, but I've pushed it back to 3-4 days now. Any longer and my hair is too greasy, and every day shampooing either dries my hair or makes me scalp over produce oil.
I'm also kinda in between brands right now. I use Garnier's Sleek and Shine Shampoo (mostly for the scent; don't think the shampoo does anything much to my hair) and Organix's Cherry Blossom Ginseng Conditioner. The conditioner really leaves my hair soft and smelling good. But Organix can be pretty costly at times. =(
Sorry, I just came out of the shower.

Heart of summer, with a lot of sweating? Every day.
More temperate season? About every 4 days, sometimes even longer if I slap on some dry shampoo. I rarely condition because I feel it makes my hair heavier and more likely to get greasy.

Having hair that gets greasy SUCKS, but if that's the price of this killer tan I'll take it. Also the conditioner smells like coconut.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 12:19 am (UTC)(link)I don't wash with it, but I've used ACV for a rinse. My hair was silky afterward, but got oily much faster than usual.
Re: How often do you shampoo/condition your hair?
I use Organix too, btw! The coconut milk shampoo and conditioner; love the smell. (It makes me hungry though, haha, it's that good.)

I shower more often than that, though, especially if I've been exercising. When my hair is long I'll use a band or a cap. Or just be careful when it's short.
Re: How often do you shampoo/condition your hair?
I wash my hair every other day if I'm not feeling under the weather. If I do, then I skip. If I get my hair wet I wash it more often, dayly.
I use condition every time. Folks who are really srs about their hair use hair masks instead. That's why you see some expensive brands with only shampoo and no conditioner.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 12:38 am (UTC)(link)Every two days, I do a mayo-on-scalp treatment, then rinse it out and wash with Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Don't know if it's best for hair, but at least my scalp doesn't burn like it used to. And I think some of my lost hair is actually growing back.

Mostly I use whatever is cheapest, and usually the ones for dyed hair.
I don't condition much. Maybe once every other week. Any more than that actually messes my hair up. And I never use hairspray/gel/mouse. My hair doesn't take product well.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 01:49 am (UTC)(link)I'm guessing my hair isn't as greasy as some others, and my color definitely isn't as permanent. :)
Because I'm lazy, I always use a combination 2-in-1 shampoo conditioner, so I condition every time I shampoo it.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-29 02:26 am (UTC)(link)And I don't use vinegar but one of my friends does. I don't know how she feels (I mean she likes it but I don't know in detail) but I know it makes her hair smell really nice.
Also one of my other friends uses another natural not-shampoo (idk what) and she was telling me the other day that when you initially switch to natural shampoo your hair gets really greasy, because your scalp produces extra oil to keep up with the chemicals of shampoo, but then after a few weeks it goes back to normal. IDK I thought that was interesting.
