Can you ID these caterpillars?

This one is kind of blurry, but captures the fuzziness

This one is crisp, but you can't really make out how fuzzy it is. Also it has a cobweb stuck to it

And this one, again in picture looks nothing like the other two, should maybe come with a warning for graphic-ness? It's topped over on it's side, and being swarmed by...tiny ants? Itty bitty spiders? They just look like specs in the photo.

I appreciate any help y'all can give, othewise I'm going to be paranoid it's some invasive thing out to kill everything, myself included. (There were at least five inching their way around my building's garages/driveway.)

Steven, Jenny and poor, tragic Florinda.

Seriously though a quick google search for "black caterpillar with white hairs" brings up a walnut caterpillar? maybe?

Thank you! I tried fuzzy black caterpillar and fuzzy gray caterpillar and the closest match I found was something with the header "this can kill you." But walnut caterpillar seems much more likely.

Looks like Eastern Tent caterpillars. They are moth caterpillars. Not butterfly ones. And they are actually pretty common. Usually you can see a huge silk nest of them in trees just wiggling about during the spring and summer months.

I am guessing you are taking this from somewhere in North America?

Yes. Kansas, USA.

Well, it could be just that, a Tent caterpillar. But it is definitely a moth caterpillar.

Looks like a moth to me, maybe start there? You see a lot of moth caterpillars in New England. Gypsy moths and whatnot.

Had to plug this site because it was created by entomologists from my school! These people are really good about helping to ID mystery insects. You could just look at the pictures, but I think you'd get better and quicker results by submitting an ID request:

Just eyeballing the third one, it looks like it might be the larva of some kind of sphinx moth.

We call those 'wooly worms' and mostly ignore them or pet them. They're harmless little moth caterpillars, though of what kind i have no idea.
