Does it count if I have no idea who either of those artists are, am a fan of Bleach, and still can't see the resemblance? I kinda just don't get it...

If it were the first person and DOGS, I could totally see it. But KT???

DOGS is what I thought, too. That's the only resemblance I'm really seeing...

But it is a fanart of Heine, who's from Dogs. But I don't actually think it looks like the mangaka's style... But maybe that's just me *shrugs*

But even if it did, so what? There's a lot of fans out there who mimic the original artstyle when doing fanart or doujinshi for the series. So, even on that level, I just don't get the OP.

Er, I agree?

I don't draw, but I write and it would be bullshit if I said that my work wasn't influenced by other writers. We don't live in a vacuum.

It probably helps that I've seen more of these artists' pieces, and in their entirety. The examples given are a bit weak.

For the record, not saying getting influenced is bad. It's pretty natural, as has been pointed out before. I just don't feel that fanart that copies the style of the original to this degree is interesting; why not just look at the original, if the fanartist doesn't bring anything new to the table? But that's also been pointed out in previous comments.

I'm thinking the pictures used in the secret weren't meant to specifically depict the Kubo-resemblance, just to let people know the identities of the artists the OP was taking about. The claim is probably based on a wider variety of artwork.

Jury's still out on the first artist, but I disagree about the second. Her style's awesome. But OP has a few points too.
