Then get more mods? Rotate responsibilities? There are ways to make this work without making your applicants wait for a response forever.

It takes two mods' agreement to take action on an app. We could do it unilaterally, but then there would be complaints (even among ourselves) about partiality and the lack of accountability.

So in the meantime while all over you have been complaining about OOCness and how none of them have been doing about it, you're going to piss and moan about the application process? Wow.

[identity profile] gaulish.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Wonders never cease.

[identity profile] degrees.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Um, all over? I said it in one place, and that was in response to a question for clarification.

And wow I was offering a suggestion to make things run a little smoother for everyone involved. You sound like you need to back away from the computer and go take a valium because you're a liiiittle too worked up over this whole thing.

So the mods have lives? Maybe you should go get one too.

[identity profile] gaulish.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
No, no. You guys just don't get it, do you.

There have been complaints of OOCness, so therefore more time is taken with the applications, the request for canon information is requested. And it's also the busiest time of the year, the holidays. Applications will take longer. And, again, beating the dead horse, over a hundred plus members. Moderators have to consult one another to make sure an application is good. You guys just...don't understand this. While you're pissing and moaning about OOCness, applications processing have to go through a tougher examination.

I mean. Really. What is it that I am missing? Tell me.

"everything"

"logic"

"brain cells"

"common sense"

"reading comprehension"

1. "busiest time of the year"

I don't think it's necessarily just around this last week or anything this problem has been occurring?

2. I said elsewhere, and never got a response, but uhhh, I can't help but think that your application process is a little ineffective? Asking for a longer app in the first place not only filters out OOCness, but might make it easier for the mods - it's easier to pick out an OOC or bad RPer when you have more written stuff for work off of, yes?

3. Time, uhhh as said by others, I think if it's that much trouble, you could get help? There's no one saying the mods have to DO THE WORK ALONE ALWAYS WITH NO EXCEPTIONS, so get some app-reading assistant mods?

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Uhhh, logic comes to save the day!!

- why not, oh idk, make a post where the mods can just say YAY OR NAY to an app so they don't have to sit around and wait for other mods for consultation?
- if they're not doing that, then that means they're not doing their responsibility
- since we're beating a dead horse: yes the mods have lives, yes they can't be on the computer 24/7, yes the game is super big and is v. tedious, yes the apps do go through extensive examination. so. if you can't handle the workload, .

What you're missing: if you can't handle the workload, .

What part of GET MORE MODS are you not understanding? Are these three words in this combination just not comprehensible to you? I'm beginning to think that you're ignoring the point of this whole argument just because you like hearing yourself argue!

Maybe these mods can be JUST for applications, maybe they can make it so that they have to consult one of the regular mods for approval before stamping them. But there IS A WAY OF MAKING THIS WORK WITHOUT MAKING PEOPLE WAIT TWO OR THREE WEEKS. It's discourteous to people who are trying to join the RP. Without the players, the RP is nothing, why would you want to piss people off?
