Tell that to the minority (but loudest) group of feminists on the internet. And those people wonder why people don't want to call themselves feminists.

It's also because people like you keep referring to the vocal minority as feminists instead of "assholes who are wrong". You want to distinguish between the two? Don't legitimize the assholes by lumping them in with the legitimate feminists.

No True Scotsman. The sad thing is, they are feminists, as there is no one single group with one single charter they follow. Feminism is made up of several factions, each with their own ideals, and man-hating "assholes who are wrong" are in fact included in that list. They are, however, a vocal minority. That term is perfectly functional.
