Re: Flawless Casting

Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. I wasn't familiar with Cooper at first (I don't think I've ever seen anything he's been in), but his voice is the only one I can hear for Rocket now, with all due respect to the numerous other guys who voiced him in bit parts in the cartoons.

Hoon Lee as Master Splinter in the Nickelodeon TMNT cartoon. The entire cartoon has perhaps some of the most brilliant and inspired casting choices I've seen in a cartoon yet (barring Jason Biggs as Leonardo, but I'm glad he's gone. Still unsure about Seth Green as Leo now, though...), between Kelly Hu's Karai and Sean Astin's Raphael. But it's Lee's Splinter that really stands out to me: he's able to command respect and authority as a teacher, yet has a warmth and a razor sharp sense of humor when he's in Dad Mode. It also helps that they actually cast an Asian actor in the role this time as opposed to the painful "American man imitating an old Asian man" stereotype like they've done in everything else. (There was the late and great Mako in the 2k7 movie, and while he was okay there, his performance didn't really stick with me)
