Re: Not OP
(Anonymous) 2014-09-01 01:21 am (UTC)(link)Everyone thinks Vikings had horns on their helmets. Helmets with horns on them look cool and distinctive. There is nothing wildly culturally nonsensical about having horns on their helmets. Vikings no longer exist, so no real Vikings will be harmed by the erroneous portrayal of their helmets in the making of this movie. How on earth is there anything wrong with portraying Vikings as having cool distinctive horns on their helmets in a kid's fantasy movie?
In a serious historical adult movie about, say, the early Viking voyages to eastern Canada, yeah, having horns on their helmets would be a irritating. But here? Pfft.
(And by the way, why not have French revolution people speak Korean if the movie is made in Korea for Korean audiences?)
Re: Not OP
(Anonymous) 2014-09-01 09:49 am (UTC)(link)I still loved HtTaD, and didn't even consider the horns on the helmet. Because it is a kids movie. Besides, in this context it makes sense. They've slaughtered and killed dragons for a long time; horns would be more of a trophy than anything else. They weren't going into battle with the helmets (they aren't invading vikings), so they're purely cermonial. There. Now secretmaker can go watch the movie because it became plausible :P
