I don't dislike Xander because he's flawed. I dislike him because he's an asshole. You can be flawed without being an asshole. Especially one who thinks he deserves to get a girl, and who the fuck cares what she thinks about it.

I've never even watched Buffy, but that right there? That will turn me off from anyone. I mean I guess if it's acknowledged and either mocked or redeemed in canon, that's one thing, but I hate it when stuff like that is treated as normal and nbd. >:(

Yep. He continually tried to get Angel killed so he could get with Buffy, and nobody ever calls him on it. He also ditched Anya at the altar, and cheated on Cordelia with Willow.

The way he was around Buffy was just so gross. I binge watched on Netflix a while ago and almost quit in the first season because of him.

Acknowledging that it is not great in canon is the only way I could stand it, but it isn't. His behavior is treated as normal and okay and that made it even worse.

Actually, I think that's what bothers me about this secret. In universe, Xander wasn't 'flawed'. He was treated like the loyal guy that everyone under-appreciated.
