Racist/sexist/rockist

The problem is that when you talk about Nicki Minaj and similar pop figures, a lot of people seem to hate them more for What They Represent rather than because of their music. Whether that be some idea about how 'pop these days is mindless and dumb', or how 'it doesn't require any creativity not like the good old days',something about promiscuity, or something whatever, a lot of those broader arguments are things that people strongly disagree with (because they're real dumb views). It always gets all complicated. So I think when people see intense dislike of someone like Minaj, there's a tendency to regard it as part and parcel of those viewpoints.
