(Anonymous) 2014-09-01 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)About the only upside to my seizures is that I write like a demon the day after them. Otherwise, they're pretty horrible to have. I'm out of commission the whole day I have them, so it's not like they make me more productive overall.
I hate author's notes in general, especially at the start of a story. I don't want to know the writer's personal journey. I want the work to stand on its own. I would close a book fast if a writer started to share their medical details in the foreword.
They're a huge part of my writing, though. I hallucinate a lot before/after them. So this is good to get off my chest.
