Okay, but doesn't that happen with actual relationships, too?

Not just ones that RPF shippers have imagined? And I mean both friendships and romantic relationships. Sometimes people drift apart and sometimes they just drift out of the public eye (like when they aren't promoting anything together). I think the promotional circuit sort of artificially amplifies relationships. Celebrities can be friends or romantically involved without the whole world knowing every detail about - there are ways to keep some things private.

Yes, which makes is strange that people get so delusional about the whole thing. I've had co-workers whom I was friends with, went out drinking and did stuff with. But it was a job with a high turnover rate. A few of us left. A couple people moved back to their hometowns. And we all drifted apart. Some are probably still in touch because they were closer, but I don't talk to any of them. Mainly because we didn't have the one thing that brought us together everyday, our place of work. I don't see why it's not feasible to happen with actors too.

No, you misunderstand. Once two people in a popular RPF ship get close they can never have another best friend/someone to tinhat with. They MUST remain together. Always. Or at least till the end of the line.
