gah, I hope we don't have the same availability issue we had with The Plague Stone. I didn't think about it at all (first two books were super easy to get) until partway through August. :|

Anon who brought up the availability issue with The Plague Stone here: looks like my libraries (I have a few options) have eight books by Juliet McKenna between them, including the other three books in the series... but not Southern Fire. Oops.

man. that is not promising.

well it looks like my library system has two of the books in the series, but not Southern Fire. Here's hoping Barnes and Noble pans out this time. no time to look it up right now tho

Shouldn't be too bad for me, looks like the library system in a different city that's not too far has it, and I'll probably go there sometime in the next month anyway.

I got a copy of Southern Fire secondhand. The summary looked interesting but then I flicked through it when it arrived and the prose starts with a pregnant woman, I think? It put me off as that's not my thing. I'll read it anyway. What date do discussions start?

I find it hard to find out what the book is each month for book club or when the discussions are. I think it was supposed to be Sundays? But when I look there's often nothing on the FS Sunday posts.

Wait. You'll...stop reading something if it involves a pregnant person?

So... women cannot be pregnant in literature? And presumably that means guys cannot be fathers. And no one can be motivated by feelings of unborn children?

There is a lotta literature you are gonna have to give up on then there, nonny.

It's supposed to be the last day of the month. In August, that happened to be Sunday. You are right, though; that's not a very active day.

We could try to set a specific date for this month's book that will work better for people? The last day of September is a Tuesday. (I wouldn't mind shifting it a little anyway as I probably will have to work that night, but we'll see)
