You violate your moral code because you find them beautiful...
So how different is "she asked for it, she was soooo hawt in that short skirt."

People are willing to forgive anything it seems.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-02 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That's...that's not even remotely the same thing... o_O

(Anonymous) 2014-09-02 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Forgiving doing something wrong because the victim of the "crime" is too hot to stop is the basis of sameness here.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
In OP's mind what they are doing is creepy (not saying it really is) but are continuing anyway because of the overwhelming beauty of the pairing. They can't help themselves and have no control over their impulses to do this thing they dislike because the subject's attractiveness is an overwhelming force. They have no agency now because they are forced to do this thing because hot.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
BUT NO ONE'S ACTUALLY BEING FORCED TO DO ANYTHING. They think about hot guys doing things to each other. That's it. Maybe not 100% creep-free since they're real people, but to compare that to an actual rape scenario...

OK, then it's like people who just have to click on all those leaked naked celeb photos. They are getting a thrill by looking at noncon pictures. But of course, since the celebs are hot and they are public personalities it's no big deal, right? When in actuality they are participating in a sexual violation.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Except that the photos have actually harmed the celebs, and looking at them creates a market for more nude photos in the future.

Please explain how having fantasies you don't disclose anywhere but on a secret site is harming the celebrity.

Secret site. LOL.

Imagining something isn't sexual violation, outside of a confessional.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I don't even... Go back to tumblr. Please, just do it.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You can always tell that tumblr mentality (or, more to the point, lack thereof).

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
What if I told you I don't get tumblr, and am an old LJ'r from days gone by.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-04 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Then I would say your haven't fucking grown up at all since those days.

This comparison is pretty gross, anon. Stop.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
So only the things you judge important are worthwhile? OK. You are now my lord and savior. I await your second coming.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever people do themselves they justify as OK. It's how the brain works. Human nature to make themselves feel good about their lives.

what even is this comment. Do you reply this way to everyone who states a critical opinion on the internet, anon? How do you live online??

(Anonymous) 2014-09-03 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The difference is that OP is doing this only in their own head, and knows that that's where it must stay. They're not harassing these celebrities or seeking to obtain pictures of them without their consent, and they have no intention to, because they know that that would be wrong.

Rape, on the other hand, is something that's done to another person. Actively harming someone is not at all comparable to fantasizing about someone.
