"the fact that they really don't like each other much shines through more and more"

Do they really not like each other or are you being hyperbolic? I don't watch the show often but I always caught an awkwardness between them that I just thought was a mix of their poor acting skills and taking different approaches to the project. Do you have a source?

“We seriously irritate each other and don’t want to spend any time together,” Hyneman says.

Basically, he says they work well together because they're both gung-ho about projects, and the fact that they butt heads all the time means they have to look at things from different angles, but they're definitely not friends. Personally, I find that combative kind of tension annoying, and it seems to be flaring up more and more often as the show goes on :/

I don't know if there's active dislike (although I wouldn't blame them for being thoroughly sick of each other by now), but they've always been very open about the fact that this is just a job and they're just coworkers, and outside of actually filming the show they have no interest in interacting with each other.

It often comes up in interviews. Googling "adam savage jamie hyneman relationship" without the quotation marks doesn't get you slash, but lots about how they have a relationship based on respect but not like.
