Re: Random things that have amused you today (or recently)
That is a hilarious photo and I love that one of your friends either had it, or went searching for something like it. Beautiful.
I hope you had a good birthday! <3 (And got to eat something scrumptious!)
Re: Random things that have amused you today (or recently)
BTW, is that show worth watching? I keep seeing stuff from it on my dash but I don't know what I should even imagine it being like?
Re: Random things that have amused you today (or recently)
Oh, man...
Ugh, it's brilliant, absolutely brilliant, but if you aren't in the mood for serious topics or heartbreak, don't watch. The cast is perfection, the sets are gorgeous, it's beautifully shot, very smart writing, but...the subject matter is heavy.
If you like the idea of zombies being rehabilitated and reintroduced into society and don't mind some heavy racism/anti-gay/mental illness parallels then you would probably like it. (God, there's so much prejudice and the show touches on suicide, substance abuse, there's some good old fashioned murder...)
It's high quality, just very emotional and earnest and real.

Re: Random things that have amused you today (or recently)
I'm not sure how to describe it other than that, though. As far as I know there's nothing else quite like it out there; it mostly deals with the hardships of being different and struggling to live in a society that hates and/or doesn't understand you. That's why it feels real; it deals with very normal, everyday issues and doesn't feel supernatural at all. (It's set in a small town, you see the cast members grow and change, there is no 'zombie apocalypse', it's very much 'the daily life of reformed zombies, trying to get back into 'normal' routines'.)
