(Anonymous) 2014-09-04 04:16 am (UTC)(link)It's a good idea if OP decides to share their work with the fandom. They'll probably find others who think like them, and who knows? Maybe others will write similar fics.
But they'd better lose the "my work is automatically so much more intelligent than what the masses like" attitude. That's an instant deal breaker for me, no matter how good the work is. (Also, don't complain of how you're being ignored if your fic is not widely recognized by fandom. If you're fulfilling a niche market, don't expect it to be the most popular fic in fandom).

I've seen brilliantly-written rarepair fics in my fandom and they post to the music of crickets... maybe one or two comments if they're very lucky. The juggernaut pairing tends to squeeze everything else out.
