And even if it turns out that Zoe did underhanded things, I don't think she deserves the sheer level of vitriol being hurled at her. If you're really going after "corruption" in gaming journalism, then go after the guys she allegedly slept with. This matter should have been settled privately between her and her boyfriend, and should have ended with the breakup.

Judging by the interview of her ex, he regrets releasing the info online. Either he's so clueless about gaming culture that he didn't know how many people would start baying for Zoe's blood, or he knew exactly what he was doing but didn't anticipate the sheer scale of the reaction and how bad it makes him look, and is now backpedaling hard enough to power a large generator. I don't know what actually happened, I don't know either of them personally, but I just want these stupid death threats and feminilluminati conspiracy theories to stop.

This. As with any other conflict-of-interest situation, journalistic integrity is the responsibility of the journalist. (Wow, that feels good to type. Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one who's been thinking it.)
