Not a Mcshep shipper or in SGA fandom, but I also hate this kind of innane, generic, usually out of character, fluffy shipping stuff. Not only does it get boring, but like you said, it disregards all interesting exploration of the setting and dynamics of the characters in canon. (One of my ships is two middle-aged men, who work in a military-type environment, yet all the shippers on tumblr seem to like to do is "imagine" them acting like needy, gooey, teenagers in love. ARGH.)
