Whaaat is up with this really syrupy stuff all over tumblr these days? For example, the tag for an actor I like is flooded with posts like, "Imagine the actor gently stroking your hand, looking into your eyes, and whispering 'I'm so proud of you'". The actor doesn't even seem to be that sympathetic of a person in real life, I mean c'mon. I just feel creepy and uncomfortable reading them.

Imagine that he's standing at a chalkboard, asking you to solve the complicated equations he's written there. Then imagine you wake up. You're alone in your bed. You're relieved to be safe, alone. I've longed to write something like this up, put it on Tumblr, and see if it gets any circulation at all... Though given that I've got about six followers, probably not.

I seen it in article comments about celebs ... never fails to creep me.

I think it may be because of how young Tumblr skews and they have a strange idea of how adults behave? Maybe? I'm kind of grasping for an explanation.
