I always liked to imagine (in my fantasy X-Files world where Mulder and Scully never hook up and are totally platonic, and also most of the stuff in the last couple seasons happened) that Scully eventually settled down and married someone (other than Mulder) and eventually had a kid or two, and moved out to a really nice place in... not the suburbs, but a nice small town. And Mulder's still the same weirdo. But they're still best friends, and they're still committed to finding the truth, and sometimes Mulder will come over and have dinner with Scully and the fam, and sometimes he and Scully will still go on adventures to find weird shit.
