(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 07:57 am (UTC)(link)I mostly like puzzle/strategy, rpgs and visual novel games. Fire Emblem: Awakening is amazing and why I made the move. The Professor Layton and the Ace Attorney Series are also my favorites, but also I've had great fun with Broken Sword, Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Hotel Dusk, Advance Wars, Steamworld Dig. I also have a couple dozen interactive books.
I bought the console new in case of problems (so far the Nintendo helpdesk service is excellent if I even have a wobble because my card is badly inserted) but picked up most of my games second hand on ebay to keep the cost down there.
Anyway, I really debated buying a 3DS because of the cost, but I use it every day.
Battery life is excellent too, especially if you turn off the internet connection and use headphones. I get about 6 hours out of it like that before I have to recharge, or days and days if I'm not using it constantly and just leave it on standby. I once borrowed someone's tablet and I couldn't get even 2 hours out of that without a recharge, which I was surprised at.
