Oh to heck with that. It's never said they hate each other. No, they're not best friends but oh might that be because they're rivals?
Seriously, if you look at it, love and hate are close together anyway and they certainly have enough passion between them to justify a relationship, even if just pre-game.
No, it's not canon, but that doesn't make it entirely nonsensical.

I just don't (and I don't mean that in an asshole way), there's respect there yes, but I just don't see how conceivably they would ever get past the beating on each other to pair up.

Okay pre-game is slightly more acceptable, though even then wasn't Seifer technically with Rinoa for a while? Not... that she ever clarified if they were dating or not.

I mostly ship them totally pre-game (in that totally awkward oh hai we are 16 and have hormones way) or way post-game when there is more respect and Seifer has calmed the fuck down. XD; In-game does not work so much for obvious reasons, but I still don't think there's ever any hate between them.

I don't think Seifer and Rinoa really have been dating each other. I mean, you don't get that much time off Garden when you're still a cadet, right? :/

I don't know she said she spent a summer with him, and I do think it mentioned a winter break in-game. So possibly they get like a couple months off each year or something? But even then Rinoa said she wasn't sure what they were so... Yeah who knows?

Although the awkward we have hormones way does have promising vast amusement.

Though I still think that there was some hate (even if it probably faded after a little while) what with Seifer handing Rinoa over to Adel, that had to have pissed Squall off like woah.

I think she's got that girly thing where she's all "he kind of likes me so he must want to be my boyfriend" thing going on. My opinion of Rinoa is not always very high. >>;

One communicates by being a jerk, one doesn't communicate at all. It's hilarious.

Yeah, I'll admit that probably pissed him off like whoa, but yes, also with the fading of that anger.

Rinoa's kind of an odd character, she starts off tough (a little stupid), determined, and very self-sufficient then she suddenly goes OOC and gets clingy emo twu luv thing going on. It's... weird.

ROFL actually that was kind of the appeal between Seifer/Vincent >_>

Probably, I don't see Squall hanging onto anger for an extremely long time very well. I'm sure they'd still duel over nothing though ahaha.

I think she's fairly naive and clingy right from the beginning. She has a lot of potential, though, except Square fucked that up.

Eh, I kind of see Vincent as asexual after what'sherface.

And that'd be awesome. Other couples fight, they actually try to kill each other.

Little bit, but she did run off to try to face Edea on her own. She gets points in courage and -3 in intelligence for that one.

Eh it was mostly intended as a crack pairing anyway, honestly I'm not a huge fan of slash at all. It just ended up working in an oddly almost well way, almost. Mostly they tried to kill each other. Good times :D.

And my not so secret love of Seifer/Quistis or Seifer/Fujin.

But that aside that is rather highly amusing XD.

But you know what's really sad? How hard it is to find a good Squall player. That stays. D:

Seifer/Quistis is awesome. It's such snarky love. (I don't get the concept of an OTP. I'm a slut for different pairings.)

I found one (and she plays a good Seifer, too) and she's the only one I ever play with. XD; I don't trust other people with it.

I love the snark, and how well they can get along when they stop arguing and being bull-headed. (Eh, OTP pfft. I like to let relationships develop through rp naturally, rather than planning it.)

Gasp! I found one once too but she got busy and left the game and now I am sad. I need to find another.

Yes! If she is ever interested I have a game that's largely on pause for now... Sadly D:. Because I'm in two others and most of my players keep getting distracted with school and jobs. Damn you real-life!

(Sadly Seifer's already paired with Fujin in that one and they're being sickeningly sappy. Guh.)

Exactly, and being as I kind of hijacked the game from someone else (with permission of course) I didn't know everything about the plot and whatnot anyway. So I've done a bit of a rewrite and think maaaaybe some starting over might be good.

Oddly it does, they're such similar characters that they work really well as brothers. Aside from the fighting, which is always hilarious, and their insane need to compete over EVERYTHING.

Oh, jesus, we get on Seifer/Rinoa and I have to butt in. XD

They were sort of dating for a summer. Rinoa says, in game, that she thought she was in love, and that Seifer was sort of her boyfriend (Squall, I think, makes the comment, "Your boyfriend?"). They broke up, Seifer was basically indifferent to the whole thing ending, and that's why it wasn't really brought up again.

As far as Seifer/Squall, I mean, they're the only two gunblade specialists in all of Garden. They're stuck with each other, so even if they weren't the best of friends, they still hung around with one another. I can absolutely sink the entire ship right here and quote (from Galbadia, when they were in Martine's office), Squall saying, "I didn't know him that well, but he wasn't a bad guy, really." S'yeah, rivals, but not blood enemies.

"My only love sprung from my only hate" and all that, except they didn't really hate each other, just were sparring partners and rivals. I agree with pre-game shipping, because when you're sixteen, there's bound to be experimentation, blood-rush from training sessions, etc.

I'm going to stop now, since I can basically meta on the entire FF cast ALL DAY.
