You have a good point, but it's one of those things that's easy to accept in print but a wee bit harder to carry out in actual practice. I was wrong to resort to personal insults, and should they read this (if you aren't they,) I apologize on that behalf. I was in a bad mood, and I have no excuse for myself. All I can do is ask that you pardon my rudeness.

But generally, half the fandom brown-noses those two on a regular basis. That alone makes it a little hard to ignore the fact that they have some sort of influence over writers, whether said writers agree with them or not. That's a little like saying, 'Well, I don't agree with Hitler's views, so therefore he has no power over me.'

Mind, I'm not comparing either of them to Hitler, nor insinuating that they have some sort of iron grip on the D.Gray-man community of writers even minutely comparable to him. As a matter of fact, that's a tasteless analogy, and I admit it being so. But regardless.... They're 'big' now, and they have a kind of influence over that facet of fandom whether they or anyone else likes it or not. The fact that they act so negatively towards other writers shows that they apparently have no regard for the consequences of said influence, which frankly, bothers a lot of people. Especially the writers that they've used as 'examples' of bad writing.

I understand entirely that it's easy to read/type and say 'YEAH!' than put it into practice, which is why I was hesitant to post it in the first place. I also feel that no apology is needed (and no, I'm neither of the people this secret is addressing, just an onlooker), because understandably seeing your work blasted can be a bit frustrating, and FS is a place for people to vent, after all.

Actually, I'm not even one of the writers that they've picked on in the past, but... I write, and I'm not terribly sensitive, but the thought of one of my pieces ending up as some 'look fandom, this is how you DON'T write such and such' essay on their personal journals is a little disheartening.

They and others might not believe so, but that sort of thing really kills creative spirit, and not just among a few people, either. I don't want my stuff to end up as some sort of 'bad' example for their groups of friends to behold and scoff at.

Of course, both of them have issued apologies, so I can't really say that I'm forever bitter towards them (provided that they're sincere). It makes me wonder just why they thought it was acceptable in the first place. But, hey, whatever. At least they've acknowledged that they did bad things.

Who in the world are you talking about? What do they write? This anon is baffled. I didn't realize DGM even had any BNFs.

sutlers and asingulargirl. I'd be pressed to call them BNFs, but hey, whatever. They just write Kanda and Allen stuff, for the most part.
