Re: Reclining on airplanes

You know that "how do you know you're rich?" thread we had a while back? I'm going to retroactively put "being able to afford first class" on that list,

Hah, yes! I remember the first time I flew on a long international flight, crammed into my little space, trying to sleep. I'd paid $1300 for the tickets and I thought "next time I'm going to pay extra to fly first class, because that was SO uncomfortable". That was because I had the dumb idea that maybe you paid an extra $300-500 for first class.

Then I looked up the first class prices and realized, hell no - if and when I fly again, it's definitely back to the egg-carton sized coach seating for me.

Haha I was the same. I once traveled frequently on a ~15 hour flight back and forth, and coach SUCKS that long. I thought, you know, maybe an extra hundred dollars to pay for first class could be worth it.

First class does not cost an extra hundred dollars. I learned that.
