It's a name dude. There are (probably) other people with that name in the wizarding world. Even so, I'm sure Neville (and any other friend) would realize that Harry viewed Snape in a different matter and had a different view of him due to their experiences together.

"A girl named Diana bullied you back in school? Welp, better not name my kid Diana out of respect for your...weird hang-up toward anyone named Diana now, sure."

Seriously. It's a name.

what? that example doesn't even make sense. he named him specifically for that Snape, it wasn't that he just liked the name. your example would make more sense if it was "Remember that authoritative figure (the fact that Snape is a teacher is kind of a big deal in this case) named Diana who mercilessly bullied you, and to a lesser extent me and many other children, and made everyone miserable? Well I think she's super keen and I'm going to name my kid after her". I mean, the person still doesn't have a right to tell you not to do it, but I couldn't blame someone if they side-eyed you for it
