DA But can't you kind of give Wind Waker the benefit of the doubt too? It was an extremely creative idea for them to come up with at the time, because nintendo just wasn't going to get super high res graphics out of their own consoles, so they chose a style that not only their devices could handle but also looked good on their devices.

But I also think a lot of Zelda concept art is super ugly, OOT being one of them (in spite of loving the game.) Wind Waker is one of the few where I can say I love the art without adding an addendum to that love. I could see an argument for WW not being as creepy as some Zelda games, but I felt like the adventure was still there.
