Re: Is there stand-up comedy for not-racist, not-sexist, not-homophobic, not-ageist people?
(Anonymous) 2014-09-08 08:48 am (UTC)(link)Tim Vine, master of puns and wordplay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00dFzPbzOws
Milton Jones, hilarious one-liner comic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60r75Tq9Szo
Josie Long, she does a lot of material about social issues like sexism and political activism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjQhWs8ODmw
Mark Cooper-Jones, ex-geography teacher. This video is one of my favourite things ever. His timing, intonations and expressions are so spot-on, I've watched it loads of times and it still makes me laugh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hWJ9gqUdVU
Adam Hills. His DVDs are great! (I love Inflatable, and also Happyism); He always includes a positive message in every stand-up show which leaves me feeling so damn optimistic afterwards. He hosts a show called The Last Leg that's worth checking out as well. This routine is him talking about his artificial foot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxpkgqBSOPY
James Acaster. Observational comedy??? but with a touch of whimsy/surrealism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFlTuhl7LUU
Josh Widdicombe, his comedy is mostly hilariously nitpicking/getting angry at the most trivial things. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3QquuI8Sc0
Susan Calman. I'd highly recommend her comedy radio show, Susan Calman Is Convicted. She addresses different topics in each episode, and my favourites so far have been 'Equal Marriage', 'Depression', and 'Children'. Listening links are here (there's a couple of minutes of BBC announcements before the show starts):

Thom Tuck. His stand-up show got made into a radio show and IT IS AMAZING. "Thom Tuck Goes Straight To DVD", in which he watches every Disney straight-to-DVD film in existence and intertwines them with personal stories

The rest of the episodes are good too, there's an episode about Steven Seagal films, one about Bollywood films, etc

The Boy With Tape On His Face. Not exactly "stand-up" but I love him. He works with props and music to come up with material that doesn't require speaking; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73lsIXzBar0
ok I'm done forreal now
