It depends.

On Facebook, I have two different lists. Because I have a lot of friends who I just play games with. Because Facebook games require lots of friends playing. But I have my close friends list that only includes people I know well.

On Twitter, I only follow a couple of accounts that I find interesting. I don't follow individual people.

If someone friends me and I know them, I'll most likely friend them back.
