We had that thread about singers with whispery voices yesterday, or whenever... so now, what singers (male or female) do you think have very attractive voices in general?

Adele. Love her singing.

Akino Arai has a gorgeous voice. So very soothing and beautiful.

These are a couple of her older songs that were used as the endings for Outlaw Star, but they're what made look into her music to begin with. Absolutely lovely.

The songs the Soweto Gospel Choir has done on Christopher Tin's albums are gorgeous, and I have a total voice crush on the main dude. His bit in Iza Ngomso is awesome!

This question makes me realize how rarely I isolate a voice from the rest of a song, but I have a cover of Hallelujah by Arooj Aftab purely because I found her voice beautiful.

Plenty of singers from the 60's (Bobby Darin, Steve Lawrence, Marvin Gaye, France Gall, Connie Francis...)
Of the more current singers I'd pick Nick Cave and Sheryl Crow.

I was listening to my Robotech soundtrack and just think that Michael Bradley and Joanne Harris have some really amazing voices. They're such 80s voices, but they're so strong and beautiful and sexy, they ought to be appreciated in any decade. If I could take a shower in their voices, I totally would.

I love the voice of Matt Berninger, The National's vocalist, especially at this time of year. Their songs make me think of fall.

ella fitzgerald, paul simon, alex chilton (singer of the box tops), nina simone, paul mccartney, jim morrison, serge gainsbourg, morrissey, van morrison, serj tankian, izia, françoise hardy, neil young, elvis costello, dusty springfield, bon iver, al green, patti smith, tracy chapman. eta: adding janis joplin, yves montand and nick cave to the list.

well shit, that's a lot of people. and i'm sure there are more.

still, one of my favorite voices ever has to be bob dylan. i know some people think it's grating and unintelligible, but i love it.

i'll try to remember to put caps on people's names when i make a list tho.

Martin Gore, the lead singer of Depeche Mode. I could listen to him sing about how he wants to be dominated aaaaaaaaaall day.

Bonus non-singer voice: Peter Cullen. Oh my God.

Sam Cooke. But it's not just his voice, it's his precision and execution that's so spine-tingly.

Yasu from Acid Black Cherry. Hyde. The lead singer of Within Temptation who's name I don't know because for some reason I've never looked it up... Mao of SID. Suga Shikao. The singer from One Republic.

Every generation of the Swingle Singers and Rajaton, Adam Levine, all of the various Shiny Toy Guns singers, Cecilia Bartolli, Kiri te Kanawa, Ezra Koenig, Jonsí, Eric Berglund (as CEO), Carolina Chocolate Drops, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday... My list goes on an on.
