Re: Social Media Friending Policies?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-08 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
FB is for a few friends and family members only. Occasionally I'll get a random cousin here and there that finds me, I'll either ignore it or say ok since my brother friended them, maybe I will too. Note: I primarily use FB just for lurking and catching up on how my brother is doing. I don't actively look for anyone to friend since it's far more personal for me.

When I first signed into FB (at the persistence of my best friend) I had classmates from nearly 10 years prior wanted to be my 'friend'. And I'm like, I didn't know you in high school, why would I friend you now? I ignored a ton of friends requests and now rarely get them. I am happy with that.

I use twitter but primarily as a lurker with the occasional random tweet or gee if I tweet this maybe I'll win that blender. I follow more people than who follows me, and I'm fine with that. Usually food blogs or news. I'm trying got find local ones too. The ones that follow me are just those that want a high number of followers. I see through their game.

Pinterest is the one platform I still don't understand. Tons of pins from people and you see duplicates because other people have pinned them too. I get more followers on that one even though I don't pin that often. If I'm going to pin a recipe I want it to be one that I've actually made rather than wishful thinking. (Note, that doesn't always happen, the actually made part.) Those that follow I'll check them out and see if they are legitimate or just some random spam person.

So since I sort of use social media but nowhere near to the extent of others, here is link to some cat stuff: http://www.pleated-jeans.com/2014/09/08/cat-owners-will-understand-21-pics/
