Re: Real indie games you like
I also particularly enjoyed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Guacamelee!. Rock Band was fun, and does technically count as an indie title, even though the commercial success was... well. Huge. And since according to wikipedia DoubleFine and Telltale also count as indie devs, I can add Brutal Legend and The Walking Dead to the list.
I didn't like LIMBO or Bastion at all: they both pinged as a little too pretentious and tryhard for my liking.
Pathologic and The Void are both games I have studied but not beaten. Same goes for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (which you may or may not count as an indie title).
If we're including shareware, then Quest for Glory (the series), Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, A Boy And His Blob, Castle of The Winds, and Willy Beamish all get top marks for childhood nostalgia factor.
