I'll explain it a bit more, then, to help even further understand. Basically, LPers tend to turn the mics up to catch even their whispers clearly because sometimes you go quiet when you get immersed correctly. This has the unfortunate side-effect of your louder reactions seeming... TOO loud and in-your-face. It absolutely doesn't mean they're acting, just that mics currently don't scale to volume that I'm aware of.

Watch the faces of someone LPing, it takes a lot to act out genuine fright.
