I read that teenager part as the fact that when you were 16 you weren't old enough to have experienced the gamut of horror games that depend on gimmicky jump scares to be "scary." So Resident Evil and it's jump scares scared you at the time, like it would anyone else with the same amount of experience with horror games. Therefore, you wouldn't recommend it to anyone but those new to the genre, because those still work on them, therefore they might enjoy it while you didn't.

It's clear to me. /shrug

I mean I suppose I could be more clear, but I'm not obligated to explain myself to people who seem to only care about criticizing everything I say.

Feh, it's the same with fanfic, and people creaming themselves over tropey cliche high school AU fics that the rest of us who have been in fandom for a long time are like "not ANOTHER one" at. I would have liked that when I was 14. That doesn't make the fics bad, just extremely common and not particularly noteworthy. That also doesn't make 14 year old me stupid, just new.

This is it exactly. It relies entirely on jump scares for its horror, so if you've played any amount of horror games, you're not gonna find it scary.

It would've worked better if it interspersed the jump scares with something else, but when you're anticipating jump scares, the effect is lost.
