To me, that one scene Bella had with Carlisle when he was patching up her wounds in the movie was more intriguing and intense than pretty much every other scene she had with Edward in the entire series. So I completely understand, OP.

Pretty much every scene that Bella has with any character besides Edward is "more intriguing and intense."

Truth. Sometimes I forget that everything improves when Edward evaporates. That character was like a black hole.
