Inspired by #10

Do you ever know why you dislike a certain companion? Or a certain character?

I always can't put my finger on why I disliked Amy a lot. Is it because she was kinda bitchy to Rory? (Rose was bitchy to Mickey but I still favor her over Amy), is it because I didn't like Karen's acting? (Freema wasn't exceptionally good, sorry, but she's still above Amy on my list) so why do I really don't like her, I still can't figure out why after all this time.

No, and it bugs me.

There have been companions I really wanted to like, but somehow they continuously rubbed me the wrong way.

I didn't like Martha because there was far too much pining-over-the-Doctor stuff. It wasn't Freema's fault, it was the way she was written, but it made me dislike the character.

DA

As a Martha lover, I get that. I kind of would have liked to see her just shine in her own awesomeness, but on account of I was feeling like Martha at the time, I appreciated the ride as that girl who couldn't be the light of someone's eyes and just has to move on with her own life.

I never cared for Amy, not sure why. I think it's because she seemed to be stuck on one setting most of the time, the abrupt, slightly shouty belligerent tone. I assumed it was Karen's acting and lack of emotional range, but I don't think the writing helped, tbh.

Rose I disliked because the whole One True Companion thing felt like it was getting shoved down my throat. Clara is blandly annoying. I guess I didn't really like any of the "pretty feisty chick" companions we've had recently. :-/

Rose annoyed me when she was with 10...But I think it was mostly because he was so hung up on her and didn't give Martha a fair shot. So I'm kind of biased.

I wasn't terribly fond of the Ponds. The Doctor made me care towards the end.
