TW: suicide

[personal profile] kallanda_lee 2014-09-09 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There was this anon who talked about how some people changed their mind about suicide when they already had stepped off the bridge and were falling. And despite the subject, it was actually a very positive discussion, which was nice for a change.

That might have been me; I cite that fact a fair amount. If so, you and I have also talked about Captain America, and I think I've linked you to a few of my favorite resources about the character. I'm an old-school comics fan from way back, and it pleases me to see so many folks falling in love with a hero I've loved all my life.

Yes, that sounds about right! Anyway, I really liked that conversation, I do not know exactly why, but it was just so nice to discuss the issue in a not completely gloomy fashion.

As for Captain America - yeah, totally in love with the fandom now. It's funny because I'm not an old fan (I am an old Marvel fan, but gravitated more towards the mutant titles). I thought Cap was a bit "bland", but I'm reconsidering my position. Slowly getting into the comics now. The funny thing is, I do sort of think it resonates more with me when I'm older, because I sort of can connect more to losing people around me to old age, and I've seen storylines that go exactly into that, and it resonates more with me now.

Anyway, nice hearing from you again!
