Starbucks/Coffee thread

[personal profile] jaybie_jarrett 2014-09-10 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Soo I have recently discovered a love for coffee drinks and at my place of employment I have a Starbucks. Interesting coincidence. I can only interpret it as God trying to give me a less risky alternative to Red Bull.

Anyway. My fave drinks so far are the Java Chip Frappucino* the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappucino. I also like the Strawberries and Creme Frappucino tho I haven't had it in a while. I plan on trying the Pumpkin Spice frappe tomorrow.

What are your fave drinks?

*Am I spelling this right?

Frappucinos are delicious. They're basically the only kind of coffee I drink. I want to try the strawberries and cream and the pumpkin spice one, I haven't ever had 'em but they sound delicious.

They are. They're like a shake but with a lot of caffeine. I don't like the regular taste of coffee much and Lattes burn my tongue.

Pumpkin Spice is out for the fall season and I think Strawberries and Creme is a standard option.

Strawberries and creme is both coffee-free and ridiculously sweet. Neither of which is a complaint, since it's one of my favorites, just a 'letting you know' kinda thing. I think the pumpkin spice one is new this year; I imagine enough people in warmer areas (like here) were ordering them off-menu that they decided to make it a regular thing.

I'm okay with ridiculously sweet and no coffee! That sounds delicious.

I miss coffee! It gives me diarrhea so bad! I used to love mochas. Now I drink tea. Sometimes I have a chai latte, but mostly I just go for regular brewed tea so can control how much sugar goes in.

Ohh I'm so sorry about that *hug*

Well I hope tea does it for you.

I like a lot more sugar in mine but that's just me.

I'm fond of simple mocha lattes and pumpkin spice lattes.

Ohh nice. I don't mind lattes but I tend to prefer colder drinks. I'm a bit impatient and both times I've had lattes I burnt my tongue.

I have to be in the mood for hot or cold, but I run very cold so I tend to prefer warmer drinks. And I'm used to waiting for it to cool :P

I like the chocolate cookie crumble mocha frappucinos (that's what it's called?)... Without any coffee. >_>

I don't like coffee, and it makes me sleepy.

I've been told that I could just order a blended hot chocolate, but the last time I did that, it wasn't blended all the way, and it still had ice chunks. :(

Oh yeah that cookie crumble is really yummy.

and eek that doesn't sound good. Maybe it was a mistake of that one barista.

Yeah! It's not always around, though. :(

And I hope it was just that one barista, it just tasted awful. :(

Ohhh

I'm the opposite myself. I crave everything sweet and I mix my whipped cream in my drink to hide the coffee taste under the sweet taste.

When Christmas comes around be sure to try their salted hot chocolate. It's really good.

I just returned from a writing night at Starbucks, which I do once or twice a week. Most of the baristas know me by name, and they can guess what I'm going to order about half the time. I flutter between a few different decaf latte flavors (mostly vanilla and cinnamon dolce, very rarely mocha) and the new Oprah chai, which I prefer to the classic version because I like the rooibos. And I'm usually unable to resist pairing my drink with a pack of shortbread cookies.

Writing night at starbucks. Mmmm that sounds great. Once I get myself a tablet or small computer I might consider trying that.

and ooh cookies are always nice. Their pastries and bakery items look so good.

I'm that annoying, too cool to get anything whipped or mochaccino customer. I dunno what it is, but I always have to get regular coffee. But stuff Blonde and Pike Place are just delicious by themselves, no extra flavoring needed. Maybe a splash of real cream.

Oh that sounds interesting.

I usually like the whipped cream on top because I mix it to get rid of the bitter coffee taste. I drink coffee for the caffeine and like my sweet drinks spiked with it.
