I remember being a bit dumbfounded when Jo and Laurie didn't end up together because that was the expectation all my other reading had led me too and when they didn't, I was all Whoooooo! I loved it.

Exactly this! I'm glad she didn't put Jo and Laurie together, but at the same time, if Jo had to end up with anyone, I wish it had been Laurie because it did seem like he respected her as a person more than Baer did.
