I disliked the Keira Knightley version. The casting wasn't great, but it was mostly the fault of the writing, IMO. It lost a lot of that Jane Austen flavor by modernizing the language.

Not only modernizing, but having the characters say out loud a lot of what was left unsaid in the book because it would have been obvious to the readers at the time. Really, you can't think of any other way to show why Charlotte is marrying Mr. Collins other than to have her scream at Lizzie about how her father has other children to feed and, "I'm frightened, Lizzie, I'm frightened! So don't you dare judge me!"

Really, movie?
